In this globalized age, everything belongs to everyone. But the one thing that spreads faster than anything is entertainment (movies, shows, music). We living in India can easily access content from all over the globe and this has been possible through the internet. 

Many entertainment industries around the globe got to expand their work beyond the borders and some of them were able to create a huge fan following for themselves. One of them is the Korean entertainment industry. Korean dramas have taken over the world because it shows stories well balanced with Western and Asian culture and thus both sides of the world easily relate to them.

In India, many OTT platforms are providing Korean dramas in the Hindi language to make their platform more appealing. In this post, I’ll be mentioning the 11 Best Hindi Dubbed Korean Dramas.

1. Descendants of the Sun 

  • Logline: A love story between a surgeon and a special forces officer.
  • Year: 2016
  • Platform: Zee5
  • Genre: Romance, Drama
  • Cast: Song Joong Ki, Song Hye Kyo, Jin Goo, Kim Ji Won

Yoo Si Jin is a captain and team leader of Alpha Team in the Korean military and is very committed to his work. One day on off duty he meets Kang Mo Yeon, a pretty woman who works as a cardiothoracic surgeon at Haesung Hospital. After some encounters, they fall for each other but Yoo Si Jin’s work makes them apart. After some time they again meet in a foreign land and old feelings arise. Will they be able to make things right this time or will they get apart again?

‘Descendants of the sun’ is one of the best Korean drama ever created. It is not a simple love story but packs some great action too. A compelling story, great acting, and beautiful direction, it is a must-watch for everybody.

2. Witch At Court

  • Logline: A story of two prosecutors solving crimes together meanwhile always bickering with each other.
  • Year: 2017
  • Platform: Zee5
  • Genre: Courtroom Drama
  • Cast: Jung Ryeo-won, Yoon Hyun-min

Ma Yi Deum is a female prosecutor who is very materialistic and will go to any lengths to win a case. She does not hesitate to use fabricate evidence and incite perjury. She is assigned to a task force related to sex crimes and is teamed up along with a newbie prosecutor. Now together they solve crimes very unenthusiastically.

This a woman-centric series where we can see our main female lead as ruthless and who doesn’t care about her reputation as long as her objectives are completed. Whereas the main male lead is a more righteous and law-abiding guy.

3. Queen of Mystery

  • Logline: A housewife who always wanted to be a police officer gets a golden chance to be part of a mysterious case.
  • Year: 2017
  • Platform: Zee5
  • Genre: Mystery, Friendship
  • Cast: Choi Kang-hee, Kwon Sang-woo, Lee Won-keun

Yoo Seol-ok is married to a prosecutor. Her dream in life was to become a police officer but for reason couldn’t achieve it. But everything changes when she meets a passionate detective Ha Wan-seung who allows her to make her dream come true by working on mysterious cases together.

After reading the synopsis I am sure most of you’ll think that it’s just a simple story but don’t write off this show just yet. This Korean drama has got everything in a very balanced order to make it a perfect binge-watch material. It has action, comedy, adventure, mystery, and an amazing female lead. On top of that, it has a season two too.

4. Bride of the century

  • Logline: Na Doo Rim is a poor but hardworking girl. Her life changes when she meets Choi Kang Joo who is super-rich but has a dark secret.
  • Year: 2014
  • Platform: MX Player
  • Genre: Romance, Supernatural
  • Cast: Lee Hong ki, Yang Jin Sung, Sung Hyuk, Shin Eun Jung

Choi family has been one of the most influential families of South Korea for hundreds of years. But as all the big families have secrets, the Choi family is no different as it is cursed. For over a hundred years, every first bride of the eldest son has died of mysterious circumstances. 

In present, the current eldest son of Choi family Choi Kang Joo is going to marry a wealthy heiress Jang Yi Kyung. But days before the wedding, Jang Yi Kyung disappears. To keep the matter hidden, both Choi and Jang family bring Na Doo Rim, a lowly commoner who looks like Jang Yi Kyung to take Jang Yi Kyung’s place till she’s found. 

Trouble begins when Choi Kang Joo falls in love with the imposter Na Doo Rim. Will their love story get a happy ending or will the curse on the Choi family ruin everything?

Bride of the century is one of the best Korean dramas out there. It has really cute moments that we all look for in a Korean drama. The story moves at a good pace and does not drag for a bit. Highly recommended. 

5. Boys Over Flowers

  • Logline: A girl from a poor background who gets a scholarship in a rich school becomes a pray of bullying by the notorious boy group called F4.
  • Year: 2009
  • Platform: Zee5
  • Genre: Comedy, Youth
  • Cast: Gu Hye Seon, Lee Min Ho, Kim Hyun Joong, Kim Bum, Kim Joon

Geum Jan Di is a hard-working girl and comes from a poor family. She gets a scholarship in Shinhwa High School, a prestigious school for the wealthy. There she finds that the whole school is feared by four notorious rich boys called F4, who like to bully other kids in the school. Geum Jan Di’s days at school were bad as she couldn’t get well with other students of higher status but later becomes worse when she becomes the new bullying target of the F4.

‘Boys over Flowers’ is one of the classic Korean drama with a big fan following. The drama shows everything, it has comedy, it has friendship, romance, drama, and youthful energy. 


6. My Secret Terrius

  • Logline: A crook NIS officer joins hand with a widow to solve the murder mystery of her husband.
  • Year: 2018
  • Platform: Zee5
  • Genre: Romantic-Comedy, Mystery
  • Cast: Jasper Cho, Ji-Hyun Park, Ji-Seob So

The show was recently in news for a conspiracy which stated that this show predicted Caronavirus two years ago. Except for India, the drama streams internationally on Netflix but Indian viewers have an edge over Netflix as Zee5 streams a Hindi dubbed version of this Kdrama.

The drama talks about a mysterious murder of Go Ae Rin’ husband and a NIS agent living next door who helps Rin unveil the conspiracy.

The drama focuses more on the mystery and conspiracy along with comical scenes at the edges and suppresses the traditional Korean romantic which in someway may discourage many but in a nutshell the drama is one of its kind and is highly recommended for all.

7. Bread, Love, and Dreams

  • Logline: Kim Tak Goo’s journey to prove himself and become the best baker in the industry.
  • Year: 2010
  • Platform: Zee5
  • Genre: Melodrama
  • Cast: Yoon Shi Yoon, Oh Jae Moo, Joo Won, Shin Dong Woo, Eugene, Jo Jung Eun

Kim Tak Goo is an excellent baker, just like his father Goo In Jong. That’s why Kim Tak Goo was considered best to run his father’s company. But he is not given that position because he was born to Goo In Jong’s mistress. Kim Tak Goo’s is still determined to make a big name for himself in the baking industry and rebuild his career, no matter the difficulties.

If you are an emotional person then you’ll be definitely weeping tears after watching this amazing Korean drama. The story is very inspirational and it makes you sad but satisfied at the same time. It is one of those Korean dramas that you’ll not be able to forget for a long time after watching it.

8. 1% of Something

  • Logline: Arrogant rich Lee Jae In is forced into a contract marriage if he wants his family fortunes.
  • Year: 2016
  • Platform: MX Player
  • Genre: Romance, Drama
  • Cast: Ha Seok Jin, Jeon So Min, Im Do Yoon

Lee Jae In is rich, smart and has great looks but he is arrogant. Worried by his lifestyle, Lee Jae In’s grandfather orders him to marry Kim Da Hyeon ( who he never met ) if he wants to inherit the family fortunes. Lee Jae In unwillingly decides to enter into a contract marriage with her. But over time he starts to fall for Kim Da Hyeon’s compassionate and cheerful nature.

1% of Something is the simplest and sweetest romantic story and by far one of the best Korean dramas ever created. There are not major plot shifts, no complicated storyline, yet it will keep you engaged to the end.

9. My Little Baby

  • Logline: A super detective’s life takes a twist when he is forced to take care of a small child.
  • Year: 2016
  • Platform: MX Player
  • Genre: Comedy
  • Cast: Oh Ji Ho, Lee Soo Kyung, Kim Min Jae

The story revolves around Cha Jung Han who is a detective and works for a special investigation team. He is great in his work and is always busy solving big criminal cases. But his life takes a turn when he has to take care of his niece due to circumstances. For a guy who has never handled kids, Cha Jung Han finds it difficult to raise the child.

The Korean drama is filled with a lot of cute moments that will fill your heart with joy. My little baby is a simple story that makes you laugh and is worthy of binge-watching.

10. That Man Oh Soo

  • Logline: Oh Soo has the power to make people fall in love but he is lonely. Will the cupid be able to get the love of his life too?
  • Year: 2018
  • Platform: MX Player
  • Genre: Romance, Fantasy
  • Cast: Kim So Eun, Lee Jong Hyun, Kang Tae Oh
That Man Oh Soo Korean drama

Oh Soo is not an ordinary IT company technician but belongs to a family that takes care of a magical tree that gives him the power to make people fall in love. In short, he is a cupid. Despite being reluctant to continue the family tradition, he decides to become the guardian of the magic tree.

However, he has a lonely heart and has no love life. But all of that changes when he meets Seo Yoo Ri, a policewoman who is dumped by her boyfriend. Will the cupid be able to get the love of his life or will he stay lonely forever?

If you are new to watching Korean dramas then I am sure you’ll enjoy this story quite a lot. But if you are a pro like me, there’s nothing new to watch. It is filled with all the cliched that you might already have seen in other Korean dramas. 

11. Rich Man

  • Logline: A man suffering from prosopagnosia (face blindness) meets an unforgettable woman. 
  • Year: 2018
  • Platform: MX Player
  • Genre: Rom-com
  • Cast: Suho, Ha Yeon Soo, Oh Chang Seok

Lee Yoon Chan is a successful entrepreneur who runs one of the most famous IT company called ‘Next In’. But he has a secret, he can not remember faces. This has made him very secluded and mistrustful of most people. But his life takes a turn when he meets Kim Bo Ra, a town girl with an ambition to work for Next In. Kim Bo Ra brings a ray of hope and happiness in the lonely life of Lee Yoon Chan.

‘Rich Man’ is one of those Korean dramas that had a lot of potentials but ended up as an average show. Don’t watch it expecting a great storyline, the show has its moments and is watchable if there’s nothing better to watch.
